Esterbrooks and McArthurs of Cambridge remain in dispute over possession of Neil, the son of Arthur McArthur the ex fireman, following Frances P. McArthur’s death by suicide. The child is with the Esterbrooks at 56 Jay Street, Cambridge, and a custody ruling is anticipated after talk with lawyer Winslow. The second funeral for Frances McArthur was held at 2 p.m. at the McArthur grandmother's home, with Rev Woodman Bradbury officiating.
James Gilson, four years old, died after falling about 20 feet from a window on Monument street Charlestown. Mrs Gilson was tucking him in when he wandered beside the window and toppled out as blinds were opened. Dr Leen attended but the child died shortly after.
Waldo Story, prominent sculptor and Boston figure, selected to design the statue of the late Sir William Harcourt of London. Story, Salem-born son of William Wetmore Story and grandson of Justice Joseph Story, moved abroad about twenty years ago with his family to pursue art. His family includes Julian, also a noted artist.
Boston factions clash as Chicago Mayor Dunne plans a speech at the Tammany Club event in Caledonia Grove next Saturday. In Malden, a daring midnight robbery occurred near Maplewood last night. Frank H. Wilson, Maplewood poolroom owner, was garrotted and robbed at 10 Stanton Street. the assailants fled with $11 and papers while Wilson and witnesses aided him. He remained uninjured and suspects no one.
In Brookline near 51 Harvard Avenue neighbors called police after a volley of pistol shots. Captain Paige Inspector Stitt and Fatrolman Meade found William H. Howard coachman for Mrs. Augustus Gilbert had fired at a skunk. He was disarmed and explained he had killed the animal.
