The five mast schooner Gardiner G. Deering arrived in harbor last night after a fierce collision with the steamer Sloterdyk. The Deering, bow smashed and waterlogged, was towed by the tug Orion with the revenue cutter Gresham as convoy. Crews, exhausted, learned Sloterdyk had survived the incident in Boston with serious damage.
