Comet Orbit Computed By Harvard Observatory

Harvard College Observatory astronomers have computed the orbit and ephemeris of a newly discovered comet. Named in honor of its discoverer Mr Scheberle of Ann Arbor Michigan, the comet will become visible to the naked eye soon and pass the sun on August 18. It will be near Earth shortly after and fade in brightness during late August. The findings suggest the comet’s orbit differs from known comets and the year holds little notable astronomical events.

Ventilated Cars Adopt Chase Car System on Boston and Albany

The Boston and Albany railroad implemented the Chase Car ventilating apparatus on a smoking car with the atmosphere staying clear and pleasant even with smoke from cigars. The system pushes outer air into the car via a hood, vents air through a descending tube into a water-filled box that also acts as a seat and can hold ice in summer, and uses monitor top and side tunnels to carry foul air away. If properly maintained, travel on the line should become more comfortable than before.
