Nicholas Hirst received a head blow, a boy Birmingham was shot in the shoulder, several workers were struck, and Henry Day and John Light were badly wounded. No arrests reported.
In St Louis on July 21 the cotton convention serious that agricultural and signal service bureaux be extended and better fostered. It censured Congress for underfunding the Washington bureau and urged improved monthly reports or abolition. It urged revision of international standards and proposed better districting to unify crop data. Officers were elected for two years: Louis Bush president, Henry G. In Fin Island New York on July 21 a turtle about seven feet long four feet wide and weighing roughly 800 pounds was netted by fishermen near the Surf hotel. It was brought into the bay and docked, drawing hundreds who say it resembles a sea monster. The sight astonished local veterans of the sea.

F A Noteware of Monterey says he was attacked near Beartown mountain on the way to Stockbridge Wednesday morning by a highwayman who fired twice. His horse spooked and he escaped. local officers are in pursuit of him.
