Prices Cut in New York by Bronx Campaign
A campaign by Bronx youngsters and mothers led 40 confectioners to cut prices for ice cream and sodas. Ice cream will cost 11 cents per dish and ice cream sodas 15 cents including tax. The reductions followed a meeting called by Mrs. Louis Reed Weltmiller, deputy commissioner of public markets. Dealers previously charged 17 to 22 cents for sodas. Wartime table service prices will stay, but the public is urged to continue patronizing counters.
