Tin Chimneys Betray Stills at Roxbury Home

Police raided a Roxbury address at 17 Lansing Street uncovering a large capacity double still, five barrels with 165 gallons of liquid, 2 gallons of unknown liquid, and 150 pounds of sugar. Sergeant Harry R. Butler led the Dudley Street Station squad in removing the confiscated items. Morris Freedman, the resident, was identified as operating the stills.

Runabout accident ends in fatality at plant site

George Ryan 45 of 509 Broadway fell over an embankment while parking a runabout at the Borden Remington plant on Anawan street in Fall River. He landed 18 feet onto railroad tracks, was found unconscious, and died 15 minutes later at the Emergency Hospital of the American Printing Company. His neck was broken and his right lung punctured with multiple rib fractures.
