A zinc box containing a liquid believed to be a bomb was delivered by parcel post today to the Fifth Avenue office of the Carnegie Corporation in New York. The package was reportedly addressed to Andrew Carnegie, but this could not be verified. Carnegie is abroad. The box was given to Inspector Pgan for explosive examination tomorrow.

Burglars Tore Wall to Enter Charlestown Store

Raymond Griffin John Reardon and Patrick Martin of Charlestown were arrested at Station 15 on charges of breaking and entering Rosemand Bros store at 78 Waterstreet. Police say they tore an 11 inch brick wall to enter the shop and stole watches leather fobs neckties and other articles after a chase through several streets. Reardon was reportedly about to jump into the Charles River at Prison Point when captured.

Three youths to face Charlestown court after break in

Griffin aged 18 Reardon 22 and Martin 18 residents of 381 Main street and 4 Ice Court will appear in Charlestown court this morning for a store burglary. Patrolman Norton spotted a hole in the wall two feet square and two overturned store tables. Bartick and Dolan chased the three suspects catching Griffin and Martin on Rutherford avenue before tracking the third to Crowleys lumber wharf.

Fire at Tudor Motor Club Inn forces guests to flee

Fire at the Tudor Motor Club Inn tonight trapped 10 guests and several employees who barely escaped with few belongings as flames spread from the dancing pavilion to the main building. The blaze began in the pavilion and rapidly consumed the hotel, leaving many guests in scant clothing during their hurried exit.

Flames engulfed a large hotel causing broad destruction and forcing employees and guests to flee. Fire crews from the town battled the blaze, but the inn was a total loss by midnight with damage estimated at $25,000. Fred H. Gardner of Boston owned the property. Hundreds woke to the blaze as furnishings could not be saved. The fire started late and was discovered only after significant progress had been made.

End Comes for Cardenio F. King Amid Pardon Hopes

Cardenio F. King, Boston stock promoter and advertising pioneer, died at 3 55 PM at Bridgewater State Farm serving a 10 to 14 year term for larceny. His wife and four sons were at his bedside as Governor Foss sought a council vote for a pardon.

Emily Esther Beebe daughter of J Arthur Beebe of 190 Commonwealth Avenue died yesterday afternoon in the Hotel Touraine from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the breast. Hotel officials sought secrecy but news became known late last night about the tragedy.

King Dies After Strangulated Hernia At Bridgewater

Shortly before midnight Sunday night Mr King suffered a strangulated hernia that failed to respond to medical care. Superintendent Blackstone notified Mrs King and her three sons at Winthrop while Claude King was alerted in Springfield. Surgeons from Massachusetts General Hospital Massachusetts General Hospital rushed to Bridgewater but deemed the case hopeless and an operation futile. The dying man grew weaker as his family arrived at the bedside and multiple doctors remained in consultation through the night before his death after 16 injections.

The father of the deceased Beebe rushed to Boston after a fatal Chelsea hit and run killed a 10 year old boy.
