Boy Missing After Bicycle Ride Sparks Citywide Search

Kenneth Libby, an 11 year old, left home Saturday morning on a new bicycle. Police and citizens scoured miles around Winchester square and beyond while relatives wait for news. Authorities fear for his safety as no sighting confirmed. He wore khaki trousers black shoes and no hat and spoke with a slight impediment.

Father Dies in Hartford Auto Crash Injures Family

Pierre A. Johnson a Hartford contractor is dead after an automobile accident near Newington. His widow Amanda Johnson has severe scalp wounds and may die. Daughters Victoria 14 and minor injuries, Walter 11 broken arm, Carl 17 minor injuries. Car skidded on a slippery road struck an obstruction and overturned.

Renowned Author Andrew Lang Dies in Scotland

In Milton Massachusetts a deadly early morning fire on Reedsdale road killed Mrs. Bella Roos and her infant May Bella. Husband Jelle Roos and two others escaped while Edward McCormack, a night barn man, led the rescue and alerted authorities. The blaze caused about 1000 in damage and left Roos gravely burned after a frenzied attempt to save his wife and child.

Rocking the Boat Causes Two Deaths

Two men and a boy drowned when a boat overturned in Lowell on July 21. George H. Cook 32 a teamster with Conway Transfer Company and Everett Allen 35 died. Maurice Eugene Moge 10, son of Mr and Mrs Wilfred Moge of Glen Avenue, was the boy victim. Bushey aided by saving two who could swim.

Four Men Drowned at Crystal Lake Camp After Boat Capsize

At Crystal Lake a group of four men went out in a boat at about 2 to 3 PM. George H. Cook and Everett Allen, both unable to swim, sank after the craft capsized. Ernest Pinder and Ernest Ames swam to shore, aided by Bushey who rescued them. the Mage boy reportedly defied his mother to go fishing.

Robber Steals $500 and Watch From Postmaster

In Southbridge on July 21 a masked robber with a drawn revolver woke William H. Hinman at his Wiskdale home four miles away. He forced Hinman to surrender $500 in cash and a valuable gold watch from his trousers, then fled. The postmaster and storekeeper was kept at gunpoint in his bedroom during the robbery.
