Congressman Samuel W. McCall of Winchester states he is not running again for the House. He hints at another ambition but does not specify it. He is mentioned for Governor and U.S. Senate, with Senate as his initial target.

Mrs Annie Monahan aged 38 and her husband John Monahan suffered severe burns after a varnish can exploded in their home at 38 Custer street Jamaica Plain. A 9 year old son Thomas carried a burning candle that touched the can. The incident prompted a Suffolk county grand jury probe.
