Palmer July 20 There is still no trace of the mulatto who yesterday murdered S Wilson Lawrence on the village outskirts. Selectmen offer a 200 reward and Mr. Lawrence adds 100 for the capture. Lawrence clings to life in a precarious condition. Michael Dawson, longtime Thorndike resident, was found dead in bed this morning, believed to be a heart failure triggered by yesterday's assault excitement despite physician orders to rest.

An explosion of a can of naphtha occurred at the sweat band factory of J. D. Campbell in Brooklyn this afternoon. J. D. Campbell Samuel K. Campbell his son John Weiss and Jacob Weiss died. Mathew Deering was badly injured. Several employees escaped unhurt. The two story frame building was wrecked.
American fishing schooner Horace B Parker under Captain William Thomas was seized at Cape Brogle by Customs Officer Carew on the 3d inst. It carried bait and gear and was detained for hours before release. The captain discarded the melted bait and wired the American government for protection after paying license and light dues at Placentia in American coin.

Marblehead reports Hon. Sam Roads Jr was sent a mammoth watermelon from Washington. The fruit required a barrel to hold it and came as two presents from a clerk under him.
John Joyce a nine year old boy of 4 Prescott place was knocked down and run over by a wagon owned by the Roxbury Steam Laundry Company and driven by Walter Snow about 6 30 p m yesterday His back was injured and he was taken to the City Hospital
City Solicitor Andrew J. Bailey suffered an apoplectic stroke early yesterday, revived after efforts by Dr. Whitney and others, and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. Bulletin last night said recovery chances were fairly good. Bailey, a Charlestown native born July 18 1840, Harvard alumnus, Civil War veteran, has a long legal career and service at City Hall.
