In Norfolk Virginia a severe coastal storm driven collision damaged both ships the battleship Rhode Island and the Norwegian steamship Guernsey. The Guernsey dragged anchor and struck the Rhode Island on the starboard side under heavy rain and wind filling the hull with bends and a hole. No captain statements available tonight.
