At the O Connell Assembly Knights of Labor picnic near Lake Walden 1100 attendees enjoyed the day until 20 year old Fred P Murphy of Charlestown drowned after cramps in thirty feet of water. His father Dennis P Murphy arrived, a boat was used, a diver to recover the body today. He leaves a father and two sisters. During the summer he lived in Winthrop.

Ferry boat capsizes killing workers in Cleveland
