Fire kills two in Lehigh Street tenement blaze
A coal oil lamp explosion in a four story frame tenement at 20 Lehigh Street started a fire that killed Mrs. Margaret Hogan and another woman while trapping others. Firefighters found two bodies near the stairway. Mrs. Kate Hope and Mrs. Flagg escaped unharmed. Blair estate owned property damaged about 3000 dollars. tenants lost about 1000 dollars. Superintendent T. B. Roberts aided the injured Mrs. Hogan before she died at the hospital.
