Two young men, Joseph and Theodore Ducett, 20 and 22, natives of British Provinces, attempted to take down the American flag at the Youths' Companion building on Berkeley Street. Shots rang out as they fled pursued by police. four large flags were recovered. The brothers, living at 26 Casenove Avenue, were arrested at Station 5 and refused to explain their motive.

Drunken yacht crew knife attack in South Boston
A quarrel between two yacht hands on Sixth street ends with Alexander H. Murray of Dorchester hospitalized with two knife wounds the longer one a foot long across his chest. Oscar Johnson, a 27 year old Swede of Commercial street, is jailed at Station 12 for assault with a knife. Johnson fled after the attack, Murray was treated and later sent to City Hospital. Johnson held pending the outcome of Murray’s injuries.
