Mexican snipers fired on an outpost of the Fifth Massachusetts Regiment in El Paso Texas. Two shots were fired in quick succession near Bay State guardsmen. one bullet whistled past. The incident occurred about 7 20 A M near the river stockyards outside Camp Cotton. After reveille today militia guards were withdrawn per custom since the Massachusetts men arrived.
