Thirteen people were killed and 15 to 20 injured when Chicago Burlington & Quincy trains collided at Western Springs near Chicago at 6 30 am. Among the injured are Warren P Dudley and his wife Ethel Oakes of Boston. Dudley is secretary of the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission. Officials would not assign blame before a full investigation.
