Mayor Defies Finance Commission Over Armory Funds Transfer
Mayor Hibbard announced he will sign the armory fund transfer to the street department for repairs if the Common Council approves the order. The Finance Commission warned Boston must repay 150000 of the 182203 armory sum to the State, which funds back to cities. The mayor plans to use the money now and handle the refund later, despite council debates on large street loans and a 2000 Teneanseacn building transfer.

Residents protest elevated car stop changes in Boston
Sir in behalf of the inhabitants of Ber wick Park Pembroke street Warren avenue and Columbus square I desire through the Post to enter a strong protest against today's alteration of stopping places of the Elevated cars and request that the old arrangement which has been in vogue so many years be restored The cabs and automobiles usually ar rayed in front of the Plaza Hotel on Saturdays and Sundays will make the alighting place unpleasant to say nothing of being put off in front of a saloon The Forest Hills cars not going farther than Roxbury Crossing on Sundays require two changes to reach the Charles River and could be remedied Fifteen minutes between cars puts the avenue on a par with suburban traffic WTLA Berwick Park July 14

Perkins seeks removal of child guardian in custody case
Dana D. Perkins of Medford petitions the Probate Court in East Cambridge to remove Miss Alice Montgomery of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children from guardianship of his 17 year old daughter Ruth Perkins. A hearing is set for tomorrow and Perkins promises to make sensational charges. The girl was previously placed with Miss Montgomery after a court appointment on April 22 and escaped from a farm near Lowell with funds from a brother. Ruth currently lives with a family on Vine Street in Medford, while Perkins and his two grown sons reside in Medford Square. The mother died six years ago and Ruth has four half siblings living with their aunt Mrs. Ferris in Wakefield. Perkins criticizes the society’s involvement in his family affairs.
