Horses Shocked As Trolley Wire Breaks On Atlantic Ave

A trolley wire snapped on Atlantic avenue near the India and State streets joint, sending a strong current onto rails. Horses attached to a heavy dray owned by William Shannahan were shocked and fell, with others stepping on the live rails and suffering. a teamster freed the wire top from the rails before power was cut. Veterinary surgeons treated all the shocked animals, belonging to Towle, Grimes, Peabody Bros, and Bangor Boat Company.
