Indignation Meeting at Faneuil Hall Draws Large Crowd

A massive crowd packed Faneuil Hall for the indignation meeting with hundreds unable to enter. Police controlled the surrounding area as Deput y Pierce and Capt Don ovan led security. Speakers including Rev Dr Fulton and Councilman Crockett condemned prisonings of Ross Brown and Andrews and urged united action.

Elks Jolliaon Ends In Atlantic City Hall Disaster

A hall floor collapse at the Atlantic City Inlet Casino during Elks festivities on July 10 trapped hundreds on the second floor. About 1200 attendees, including men, women, and children, were affected as the floor cracked and dropped to the first level, prompting frantic rescues by fellow Elks and bystanders using car headlights for light. One Boston man was injured, with many others seriously hurt as chaos followed.

Opening Gun Showmarks Endeavor Convention Arrival

The Christian Endeavor convention fills Boston with crowds at Union Station and Mechanics Hall as nineteen opening guns fire across nineteen churches. Boston Keeps National Christian Endeavor Offices

Boston remains the home for the national Christian Endeavor Society after the Boston trustees meeting at the Brunswick. Dr. John H. Barrows presented Chicago’s offer of five thousand dollars per year for three years to support the main offices. A committee including Barrows Hill of Salem and Boynton of Boston reviewed the proposal and reported later in the day.
