The New York State University Power and Purpose
A discussion of how the University of the State of New York operates as a supervisory and expanding educational body. It outlines its dual roles in strengthening secondary standards and extending collegiate instruction through external examinations and degrees, weighing benefits against risks of residenceless study and potential devaluation of degrees.
