Launch Raced With Death Amid Steam Disaster
A small gasoline launch raced from Boston Light to Dorchester bridge with Bernard Doherty a dying sailor from the Satellite aboard. Doherty was severely scalded by a burst steam pipe in the fire room and fell unconscious. The launch arrived at South Boston where an ambulance rushed him to Relief Hospital in critical condition.
