The R-34 rear car was damaged when it dragged on the ground after hydrogen contracted in a rainstorm. Sixty soldiers aboard couldn't support the weight and a rail plus woodwork were damaged. A freshening breeze forced engineers to vent and re inflate to lift the craft about 300 feet as night approached.

Russians Drive Back Austrians in Poland and Other 1915 Battles

Reported actions include Russian forces repelling Austrian troops in southern Poland and the Italian cruiser Amalfi being sunk by an Austrian submarine in 1915. A year ago, the Norwegian ship Marosa was sunk 1200 miles off New York by a German submarine. Allied air forces with the British navy bombed Constantinople.

In Mineola New York on July six a B 34 dirigible descended from two hundred feet after ballast water was dumped from forward and stern sections. British commissioned officers American soldiers and sailors helped seize the hawser devices and land the airship safely with lines anchored to blocks along bow stern and sides.
