Longtime Fitchburg Conductor George Bartlett Dies
George L. Bartlett died of heart disease at his Lisbon Falls Missouri country home on Monday. He served about 16 years as a conductor on the Fitchburg division of the Boston and Maine railroad, coming to the line from the Chicago Burlington and Quincy. After leaving the Boston and Maine he worked with Raymond and Whitcomb excursion managers and later became a salesman for a Boston oil company. He had a large circle of friends in Boston and New England.
