Jennie K. Follansbee of Worcester, after living in costly Boston hotels and at Winthrop Beach with an account at a noted Boston department store, allegedly obtained goods from chocolates to a diamond ring without cash payments and is jailed in Boston City Prison.
Police describe a woman with a dashing demeanor aged about five years a stylish black and white check tailor made suit seen late Monday evening. authorities request help identifying her.
A guest at Young's Hotel in Winthrop Beach enters with parasol and small hand bag, registers as Mrs. H. E. Kittredge of Englewood New Jersey, and entertains guests on the veranda while rumors say she borrowed money from several visitors. Proprietress grows suspicious after a few days. East Northfield July 2 Philip K. Green professor of English and mathematics and David A. Durward assistant in the agricultural department at Mt. Hermon School for Boys were drowned this afternoon when their canoe overturned in the Connecticut River.
Two instructors at Mt. Hermon School, Green 24 of North Bridgton Maine and Durward 25 of Claremont New Hampshire, vanished after being swept under by a strong river undercurrent on the Northfield side. Their bodies have not been recovered. Bystanders saw the drowning but could not assist as the treacherous 20 to 390 foot depth claimed them before aid arrived. Green had just graduated Bowdoin College 1904 and planned to leave tomorrow for Harvard. Durward was a Cornell Agricultural School graduate class of 1906 in his first year at Mt. Hermon.
