Opposition to biennial elections hearing in Massachusetts

Remonstrants urged the Committee on Constitutional Amendments to reject the biennial election proposal. Labor leaders, politicians, and unions argued annual elections protect the people’s rights, curb corporate influence, and keep representatives accountable, while supporters claimed cost savings and reform. The hearing adjourned to Tuesday for final testimony.
