The Maggie F Gray ran aground near Liuths Caymen island. saving cargo was hindered by an agent warning, vessel later broke apart. The schooner Contest wrecked 50 miles east of Bonacos on Dec 31 with thirteen aboard, including the captain’s wife. only three escaped in a skiff with minimal gear.
