Letters Alleged From Rev Bayliss Read in Libel Trial
Two letters, alleged to be written by Rev Edward E Bayliss a defendant in a libel case at East Cambridge were read to the jury late yesterday afternoon. Both letters were addressed to Mayor John M Woods of Somerville and charged him with intoxication at the July 4 Josephine avenue celebration last year. The letters threatened to publicize the matter urged the mayor to meet the writer half way and asked what he planned to do about it. The letters were presented to the jury by District Attorney Higgins.
