The Peninsular railroad becomes the New York and Norfolk Air Line running Pocomoke City Maryland to Cherrystone Virginia, survey underway, with work possible by mid February and full operation by August 1. New York stock exchange lists bonds for Mobile and Ohio Cairo extension and Milwaukee Lake Shore and Western bonds for added track. Gulf Colorado and Santa Fe acquires Montgomery Central near Navasota Texas, plans a Brenham branch and an eventual link toward the southeast pine lumber region.
