Baby Boy Killed by Heavy Car in Watertown Street

Thomas F. Collins Jr aged 24 months was run over by a Waltham Cambridge car while playing in front of his home at 51 Arsenal Street Watertown. Witness Coligan said the child darted from the sidewalk to car tracks just as the vehicle passed. Motorman Wilfred I Phillip was arrested pending investigation but released after Coligan exonerated him and blamed the child.

New York Waiters Strike Sees Mixed Demands And Stand

Union meeting signals end of hotel and restaurant strike

At a mass meeting tonight at union headquarters speakers voiced optimism that the strike would end. Leaders said the executive committee would draft modified demands acceptable to hotel and restaurant managers who rejected the originals, and waiters would return to work tomorrow morning.
