Stanwood denies the charges as officers hold him for further questioning.
Police report officers of the fourth division charged with assault and perjury after an incident at the hail corner Kneeland and Hudson streets. Arthur Jones of the Salvation Army alleged harm, while George Simmons of 27 Cross Street suffered damage from a sleigh collision on Beacon Street near 3:50 PM Sunday, injuring Simmons' horse. Thomas Kennedy was arrested Sunday.
