Ex-Patrolman Driscoll Accused in Forgery Swindle

Dennis J. Driscoll 28, former patrolman, was arrested by Division 2 for uttering a forged $6 order drawn on Patrick Haggerty. The order, claimed signed by Robert Barnes, aimed at Summer Street. Police say he has half a dozen similar cases since leaving the force for alleged dishonesty.

Masked burglars strike Cambridge publishing house in deadly hold up

A night watchman at Ginn and Co. on First Street was held up by two masked men who cut wires to disable police contact. A gunshot grazed the guard as he fought and both suspects fled in a dark express wagon toward East Cambridge. Police and neighboring towns seek the pair. injuries to the watchman are not serious though copper plates valued by the firm may have been the target.

The Venezuelan Commission met in Washington and ratified S Mallet Prevost as executive officer. Charlestown police hold Morris Neville Jr of 42 Quincy Street as a suspect in the assault on Emily Wilkinson 7 and Minnie Carney 5 near Somerville last Thursday night. The man, calling himself a Boston inspector, questioned a 9 year old about the ride on a team that carried the girls away.
