Italian bootblack in trouble over counterfeit coins

Secret Service Agent Owens began a hunt for the source of 649 counterfeit half-dollars found in Francisco Dellicco’s possession yesterday. Dellicco, arraigned in Fiske's office, pleaded guilty by saying I found them and was bound over to March 20 in 1500 dollars bond, unable to post, jailed at Charles Street. Officers searched Dellicco's Prince Street room and a Stan dford Street boot blacking shop, finding no new leads. Dellicco, 82, a bootblack, claimed no knowledge of a coin den, insisting he found the coins. Authorities suspect a local counterfeit operation and note Dellicco’s arrest marks a first for Marshal Darling.
