One hundred fifty men answered Harvard's call for the freshmen crew the largest number on record. They will be divided into four squads and, under veteran crewmen, begin work tomorrow on the gym machines at Harvard Gymnasium.

Merrill & Co. opened with a one-pin victory at Sudbury alley, the season's closest game in the Bankers' League. Pearmain & Brooks took the next two games as J Doucette Urann and E Kerwin posted five strong scores. Doucette rolled 113 in the final round and 288 for the match, a season record.

Allen J. Edminister chief engineer for J. G. & B. S. Ferguson in Boston writes to the Post to dispute estimates of automobile expenses. He states power costs average 1.58 cents per mile, repairs and care comparable to shoeing a horse, and notes the Ferguson wagon continued service after a January storm with better time than horses.
