McAuliffe Burge Boxing Affair Reveals Offer and Contention
The Boston Post details a controversy over a potential Burge McAuliffe match. It claims McAuliffe tried to push a bout on terms with Burge, offered a $25,000 purse, and discussed fighting weight changes while other papers misled the public about negotiations. Burge says he was approached with offers and that McAuliffe intends to retire to racing.
