Washington D C Jan 14 Congressman John A Keliher will retain his seat as the house committee on elections today unanimously rejected the claims of ex Congress man Joseph A Conry A minority report for Conry was expected during the contested cases proceedings but the committee found no grounds for action and concurred with prior predictions.
John Murray was found half frozen in a Ward street snow bank in West Newton yesterday and taken to headquarters. It was doubtful he would live through the night. Judge Kennedy jailed him for one month this morning for drunkenness.

In Norwalk Conn William Carpenter 21 shot Miss Margaret Nevils seriously wounding her. He confessed to firing three times claiming no premeditation. Carpenter fled but was captured and questioned by Chief Vollmer. Police plan to report his statement as the investigation continues.
At St. Peter's Church Meeting House Hill last evening a stranger concealed behind the organ robbed several iron poor boxes after the congregation left. The sexton confronted him near the outer doors. he fled down Bowdoin street. Three boxes were opened, amount unknown. Police describe the thief as 6 ft 10 in, about 2 years old, wearing a plaid coat.
An unknown man was killed by an inbound Boston and Maine passenger train near the Mystic Avenue bridge in Somerville shortly after 1 a.m. Two letters addressed to John Sullivan of West Littletown, Mass., care of Everett Kimball were found in his jacket, along with a small amount of money.
Everett Jan 14 Mayor Boynton requested Assessors Columbus Corey and Albert W Lewis to resign. Corey has served nearly 20 years on the board, half as chairman. The move comes as the Mayor investigates past property assessments.
Michael O Connell a South Boston porter was crushed by a descending hotel elevator in the basement of Hotel Touraine and died en route home. The 286 Cc street address appears in the report. The incident occurred during or just after work hours.
Manuel Cercura was arrested after allegedly assaulting Joseph Souza of 6 Battery street. Souza, an ocean firefighter, says Cercura entered his room, demanded an explanation, drew a knife, and cut Souza eight times before fleeing the scene.
