Building Trades Council Holds Quiet Meeting on Hart Issue
The Building Trades Council in Boston met at 49 Bennet Street and took no action on Meyer Hart’s stance toward municipal committees and the Central Labor Union. Dr. Charles A. Seigfried medical inspector U S N in charge of the naval hospital at the U S training station Newport Rhode Island died today at his home from pneumonia aged 50. Appointed March 5 1866 from Massachusetts he was an authority on hygiene and was to represent the United States at the Berlin medical congress this summer where he would read a panel on hygiene. During the Civil War he oversaw the erection of a naval hospital at Key West. his last sea service was in 1889 with shore duty since.
