Bulls Scarce and Bears Idle in Wide Market Decline
Wall Street trading showed selling predominance as traders reacted to disappointing price moves and Washington political risk. The market remained cautious with few major liquidations, while Lawson’s campaign and tariff talk kept sentiment pessimistic. Amalgamated, Illinois Central, and copper stocks led declines, with Michigan copper strong early but finishing mixed. The tone was cautious, with expectations of a possible future upward move but no immediate gains.
