Plans for New Hotel at Site of Old Art Museum

The old Art Museum site will house a new hotel aimed at a wealthy clientele. The project, estimated at $3,000,000, is promoted by the Copley Plaza Operating Company, formed by Plaza Hotel management. Architect H. J Hardenbergh of New York, designer of the Plaza and Waldorf Astoria, prepared the plans. Meredith & Grew, Congress Street real estate operators, provided the statement.

A meeting of Copley Square Trust shareholders is called to approve lease and financing for a hotel on about 54 900 square feet of land facing Copley square Dartmouth street and Trinity place. The plan reclaims 76 000 plus square feet buildable after street widenings and land clearances.

Watertown Clubhouse Hit By Mysterious Fire Damaging $40000

Fire of unknown origin damaged the clubhouse of the Commonwealth Motor and Driving Club in Watertown last night. The lessee estimated the loss at 40000 dollars. W A LITTLEFIELD TYPO VETERAN DIES AT 83

William A. Littlefield 83 a veteran printer with over 50 years at the Boston Journal and Herald died at his home 116 Appleton Street. He was among the oldest Boston Typographical Union 13 members joining in 1849. Survived by widow daughter Kate Blanche and brother Henry A. Funeral set for tomorrow at 2 at his home.
