Man from Boston Die by Morphine at Eastern Hotel

Edward F. Sargent of Boston died by morphine overdose at the Eastern Hotel in New York after leaving a peculiar note calling life a burlesque. He had appeared in Yorkville Police Court on a desertion charge from his wife Josephine, claiming to be 25 and a trained nurse. hotel staff found a Masonic badge and Odd Fellows badge with the note.
