Hartford’s Charter Oak Park management met in New York to set two race meet dates for the season. The first meeting opens July 4 to 7 with multiple purse races including a $1,500 2:17 trot and a $1,500 2:12 trot. Time of Murder Set by Police in Farm Tragedy

Police estimate the murder occurred between 10 PM and midnight Friday after Muller was seen on the road late Friday and a light was observed at the Newton house around 10 PM. Three victims died from deep blows to the head. The Newton family, from Hertford, Conn., had money missing and a $50 estimate. Funeral for all will be 2 PM Wednesday at the Newton home with church officiants. The town and state plans reward cooperation. The adopted girl Ethel is part of the Newton household.
