Last night Hogan's Alley played to a large audience at the Columbia Theatre with Leonard and trilmore in the lead and George Mack as the Yellow Kid. The program also featured the Howard burlesque shows with Rackett brothers and many vaudeville acts including O'Brien Havel and the Marco twins. Fortunes and receipts are not given.

Coal freights rose to 1.50 a ton in Baltimore as twenty three schooners load there for New England. Typhoid pneumonia claimed Cornelius Sullivan of 15 Village Street, a longtime T wharf employee. Ship officers shuffle posts, with James Howlett rejoining City of Macon from Savannah after illness from Porto Rico fever. Sylvester L. Ward renamed Metropolitan and commanded by Captain John Pierce. Captain Stanwood of Bogton in town with Captain Smith. black buttons replace brass on wharf officers. Vesta’s captain takes command of new tug Confidence.
