A Cab Hits Coupe on Cambridge Street

At 8 35 last night Thomas H Sullivan aged about 60 drove his coupe down Cambridge street turning into North Grove street. An outward bound Cambridge electric car struck the rear wheels throwing Sullivan from his seat. His head struck the curbstone of the sidewalk, bystanders picked him up unconscious and he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. He recovered consciousness there but will be confined to his cot for a long time. He lives at 36 Montgomery street.

Katherine Drexel Takes Final Vows as Mother Katherine

In Philadelphia on January 9 Miss Katherine Drexel, founder and head of the Blessed Sacrament order, took final vows at the convent near Torresdale. Archbishop Ryan received her vows as she assumes the religious name Mother Katherine. The order she founded aims to evangelize Indians and colored people, aided by her sister Mrs Edward Morrell.

Bribery Arrests Shock Connecticut Town

Is the Godfrey Lost

The schooner Francis L. Godfrey sailed from Philadelphia for Salem with coal three weeks ago and has not been heard from since. Captain Fred W. Carson owned and commanded the vessel, built in 1872, about 600 tons, and a crew of six or seven men. Officials fear the ship is lost.

Prominent Marlboro Official Edward R Alley Dies

Edward R Alley, 48, cashier and treasurer of Marlboro Savings Bank, director of the Grand Army Building Association, and manager of the Sammel Boyd estate, collapsed and died in Outhank's drug store. He had just been elected to the Common Council and previously served as city auditor. His brother William A. of Brockton died similarly three weeks earlier. The council met in special session to draft resolutions. Alley leaves a widow and four children.
