Richeson Faces Judge Today In Death Penalty Proceedings
The court may sentence Richeson to death for first degree murder or delay the decision for a jury. A sanity commission could be appointed to assess his mental state. Ministers oppose commuting the sentence though some oppose the death penalty. Richeson’s defense plans to argue insanity with Dr Dow’s testimony cited. Governor Foss will consider clemency petitions as the case moves through court and council review.
