Tommy Fallwell won the 108-pound finals while Bob Josephs took 115, Ed Precelli captured 125, Joe Gibbs triumphed in 135, James Sullivan won 145, Sam Lagan claimed 158, and assorted bouts featured Parker, Speeno, and Veto with mixed outcomes. The event highlighted swift exchanges, close decisions, and a controversial Fall victory.
The Boston Metropolitan Chapter of the American Red Cross sponsors a park riding school show on Saturday January 19 with 20 plus entries of saddle harness and hunting horses. A polo match between Massachusetts State Guard units and a 303rd Regiment team is slated for the evening along with cavalry mounts and music from the navy yard band. A three day signal corps examining board session opens to pick officers for motor mechanics regiments to service abroad. Candidates include New England foremen and experts aged 28 to 45. Regiments will maintain aircraft, trucks, cars, and tanks and be led by engineers and mechanics.
