Robbery at 160 O Street In South Boston Days After Noon

Mrs. John McManus, 29, was held up at her home by a tall sandy mustached tramp at about 2 pm. A revolver was shown, a pocketbook and a toy bank savings box were taken, and her wedding ring torn from her finger. The suspect, about 40, appeared shabby with frayed clothes and a thin drawn face, and fled. no suspect was found. The incident shocked the neighborhood near South Boston Avenue, involving Mrs. McManus and her two young children Arthur and Mary.

Tenement Hold Up Preys On Woman In Kitchen

In a lower tenement the robber confronted Mrs. McManus as she drew water to thaw frozen pipes. He demanded money and followed her to the kitchen where he pulled a revolver, took her purse, and threatened violence while she feared for her children. He then emptied the purse and seized a child's bank.
