Eminent domain damages rule upheld by Supreme Judicial Court
The court discussed how to estimate land damages when a public improvement reduces nearby land value. Land taken must be paid at its value for use, not speculative gains from anticipated projects. If a definite plan exists, damages reflect that plan. otherwise, compensation aligns with general use value, excluding speculative increases from anticipated improvements.

Charleton Safety Boat Club Oball Opens With Merriment
Merry making ruled the first grand oball of the Safety Boat Club at Monument Eball last evening. A large cross section of district and city groups attended as Moe Cabe's Orchestra played and dancing continued past 4 o clock. An amusing incident in City square involved Joe Davis, known as Jal the veterinarian, who toppled from a wagon and had a prank lantern tied to a horse. Spectators watched as the lantern was removed and the horse led away. Police and city officials noted changes in staff at Station 15, with many officers retired or deceased. In the past year fifteen prisoners were pardoned from the Stabe Poison, and one sentence was pardoned from a lunatic hospital.
