The special cable from Dublin reports that American influence and pleas for unity could help break the deadlock over the Anglo Irish treaty. While no certainty exists, fear persists of a broken Dail, possible civil strife, and renewed British military pressure, though sincere efforts to avert catastrophe continue.
Francis W. Carroll testified that District Attorney Pelletier and Daniel H. Coakley sought to save dupes from loss by agreeing to drop charges against Emerson Motors in exchange for the company resuming car production and refunding stockholders. The alleged deal included threats of indictments for false advertising and a $20,500 extortion claim.

D. veteran and cruel treatment. He says they married January 4, 1912, in Kittery Maine, and accuses his wife of pursuing him with a revolver.
An announcement from yesterday following a Boston meeting of cotton and woolen manufacturers states there will be no wage reductions for New England textile operatives. The decision affects an estimated 400 000 workers, aligning with William M. Woods earlier message to American Woolen Company employees.

James W Dunphy a 77 year old Boston newspaper veteran and former proprietor of the Boston Advertiser and Rec ord collapsed and died around 9 30 pm while attending a board meeting at the Home for Destitute Catholic Children on Harrison avenue. Death attributed to heart disease. He had served 58 years in Boston papers and 25 years as president of the Home board.
Lawrence F. Barrett a 19 year old resident of 210 Wyoming Avenue Roxbury was found dead in bed from gas asphyxiation by his father Frank S. Barrett at 5 20 last night. Medical Examiner Timothy Leary ruled the death accidental noting the gas escaped from a detached tube of a gas heater moved from its usual place.
