Knights of Columbus donate 500000 to Catholic University

Baltimore January 2 A gift of 500000 will go to Carpal Gibbons next Tuesday as a contribution from the Knights of Columbus to Catholic University Washington to establish 50 scholarships for men studying for the priesthood at the university. The Knights have pursued the fund for nearly three years and it is the largest contribution to the university to date.

Fire at Deer Island prison laundry forces quick fireboat aid

A fire destroyed the laundry at the Deer Island House of Correction early this morning.
