Mrs. Harmon learns at dawn her husband died at 2:30 a.m. from injuries after a crash at 12:30 a.m. A police officer cited a street number mistake delaying notice and a last farewell was denied. He would have celebrated his birthday tomorrow. Continued on page 10.
Ferdinand Robbins, 67, of 748 Tremont Street, watched his wife Elizabeth die after falling at his bed side Saturday afternoon. She reportedly refused medical help, believing no physician was needed. Neighbors say Mrs Robbins cared for him despite his illness as he deteriorated. the body lay for seven hours before removal by the medical examiner.
The Harrison avenue auxiliary power station of the Boston Elevated railroad was destroyed by fire early this morning. The roof collapsed at 3 o'clock, leaving only the side walls of the two-story brick building. Estimated loss is $50,000.
Patrolman Livingstone found the blaze just before 3. Fire crews arrived as the auxiliary brick station 50 by 75 feet burned and the third alarm followed the skipped second. By 4 AM the power station was confined. The fire did not disrupt traffic.
Dense basement fire at Parkgate apartments on 12 Hemenway Street sent eight families into the street just after 6 pm. Mrs. Hodges, aiding rheumatic patient R. W. Larson in the second floor, was overcome while evacuating him and needed police assistance to reach fresh air.
Mrs Geldert on the first floor spotted flames from the back cellar window and called a passerby to alert the Carlton. Dr A W Rogers aided his family and then helped others, rapid ventilation limited smoke, and firemen confined the fire to the first floor and basement despite heavy smoke.

Malden, Jan 2. Alexander McLeod a local tailor and former 106 Main street shop proprietor, lived at 8 Stevens street with his wife and four children. He has family troubles and was ordered by the court to contribute toward family support on Mrs McLeod's complaint.
John W. White, 68, of 19 Flagg Street, was found by his wife in his room early yesterday morning after inhaling gas fumes from an open unlit burner. He was taken to City Hospital and placed on the dangerous list.
