Ejectment trial dominates New York court as Chase testimony extends

In U S Circuit Court the Jumel estate ejectment case draws heavy attention during Nelson Chase cross examination. Vouchers from the Controller show he received 259892 for land seizures and 72000 on bonds, with 243000 unspent or diverted to family expenses. He admits bond to counsel Chase OConor and unpaid services across multiple suits. The six week trial will continue at least another week while sanitary reforms and other items are reported.

Eight of New York gang held for trial in officer Tully case

Eight roughs of the Nineteenth street gang were held for trial after the murder of officer Tully. One suspect Clemens is heir to about 50 000 dollars in real estate, but his mother would not post bail. Tully remains in dangerous condition.
